New handmade African colorful cloth bag--Lamu by Shanzu

Do you need a quick pick-me-up?  Or maybe a pick-anything-up?  This bright satchel is just the thing!  It has been hand made by Matano of the Shanzu Transitional Workshop in Mombasa.  The workshop teaches skills and independence to young physically and mentally challenged women from Kenya.  Their crafts enable them to earn a living that would otherwise be very difficult, or even impossible.  This delightful bag, named "Lamu" after another Kenyan coastal town, is roomy, with two inner pockets, and wonderfully wide strap that won't dig into your shoulder.  The top of the bag is zippered.  It is adorned with the snappy Shanzu label, and comes with a tag explaining its creation.  It is both a practical and a compassionate purchase.  And it comes in a wide array of plaid colors, so be sure to check out the others as well! 

As this purse is handmade, slight variations in patterns and colors may occur.  Pictures are representative of the basic theme, and all measurements are approximate.  Each one is unique!
