Ideal for the beginner or intermediate player or indeed brass band player, this excellent Cornet is certainly built to last, as it is made from good quality materials.   Encased in a fitted padded case with optional back straps,  there is plenty of space in the case for the players 'extras'  (which are not supplied) such as a practice mute, valve oil, duster - and sandwiches!!.

• For some considerable time, since the demise of the Boosey & Hawkes Company (who set the template for world-wide manufacturing of student musical instruments) huge quantities of sub-standard instruments have flooded the UK market. Many of these have been sold to 'First-time Buyers' of musical instruments - i.e.  the parents (or Grand-parents) of young children who are just beginning music lessons.  We have lost count of the number of these instruments that have been brought into our shop for repair  (sadly, some have been impossible to economically repair)

• After lengthy discussions with many instrumental teachers, it was agreed that what is needed in a student instrument is durability, good intonation, ease of playing, but most of all, a guaranteed, good value-for-money product.  We subsequently spent months liaising with a top Chinese factory who were most willing to make the various design alterations we needed in order to have the quality we wanted for our customers. These changes include better springs in the woodwind, better pads and mouthpieces, strong, higher quality cases etc.

• When we received the first consignment of samples, they were carefully examined not just by us, but by the instrumental teachers. We were all delighted with the results and so the range of Mayflower Band Instruments was born!

• The Mayflower Band Instrument  range is not the cheapest on the market (we have all seen the £79 & £99 Cornets!)  However it is a fact of life that "cheap is not good" in our industry and you really do get what you pay for. What we are offering is Guaranteed, Good Value for Money - a very important criteria particularly in this current difficult economic climate. These instruments are built to last!

• One other important point: NO instruments leave our shop unless they are carefully checked.
