New Hourglass shape Appalachian Dulcimer
You are bidding on a new hand built 4-string Appalachian dulcimer from the Wold Mountain Dulcimer workshop.
This is constructed of the following materials
Top – Mahogany
Sides – Cherry
Back – Mahogany
Internal bracing - Mahogany
Peg head – reclaimed Mahogany
Fingerboard –Laminated from Mahogany, Cherry and Pine
Nuts - white corian
Ernie ball strings
Finished with 3 coats of hand rubbed Danish oil
This dulcimer has a diatonic scale, with a length of 690mm, and is currently tuned to DAdd, but any of the other tunings can be used
This Dulcimer has a rich warm tone, that will mellow with age and use.
Will be couriered out to the lucky winner, in a heavy duty box, well packed in loose-fill polystyrene, and will be de-tuned for transport.
If this particular instrument is not to your liking, I have a teardrop dulcimer that will be completed next week, made from cherry with a spruce top with a laminated (stripy) fingerboard, and a teardrop dulcimer that will be completed the week after, made from afromosa and cherry, with a maple fingerboard and peg head, and an hourglass dulcimer that will be completed the following week, made from cherry and spruce with a laminated fingerboard.
