The New Complete Guide to London Airport – by Sir Miles Thomas (Over 110 Illustrations), 1960. This is a fairly hard-to-find 9” x 7” 36-page guide book titled The New Complete Guide to London Airport, by Sir Miles Thomas. It was published by the North Western Printers Ltd of Stockport for Pitkin Pictorials in 1960. (I think. No date is stated but there are various clues in the text that point either to the end of 1959 or the start of 1960). The book includes over 110 photographs as well as a brief history and a guide to London Airport (not yet known as Heathrow). It also includes the latest Spotter’s Guide – registrations of over 600 Aircraft, photos of Aircraft and their silhouettes, and much else besides. The centre page is neatly detached from the staples, and the cover is slightly creased, but over all it is in good clean condition with no rips or scribbles etc.
