This amplifier is powerful for it's size.  There are several different wattage ratings out there.  It is important to know that the Root Mean 

Square (RMS)wattage of this amplifier is 30 WATTS RMS.  The 180 watt claim is for maximum power and is only momentary.  The 30 Watt 

RMS is a continuous power rating.
