Neurosis - Enemy of the Sun CD new

Being a fan of most types of underground metal, as well as most "progressional" music, this album was a god-send for me. Released in 1993, a time when the grunge scene was starting, Tool were preparing "Opiate" and Morbid Angel released "Blessed are the Sick", this album fitted in seemlessly to what was going on around it. But now it seems harder to categorise as it fits in with nothing around today, which is what makes Neurosis so compounding. Combining spoken words in with the lyrics and msuic, in "Burning Flesh in Year of Pig" is a report from the Burning Priest in Vietnam- the same scene depicted on the cover of Rage Against the Machine's eponymous debut, this albums is also very disturbing in some ways. Dave Edwardson's vocals are emotional, a cross between Ozzy Osbourne and Dom Lawson (Matter/Bowl Rider)and his bass is prominent and riddled with effects.
This album is a very risky experiment in music, and the risk pays off, with and album that intertwines a message with agression and also beauty. I highly recommend this,
