My name is Ruth, I live in Heanor with my Husband and  Daughter, aged 4, we also have a 8 year old Golden Retriever dog called Tommy a puppy called Randall and a Rabbit called "Rabbit"

My aim is to provide a safe and caring environment for your child, I will encourage your child to learn for themselves and be able to make their own choices and decisions. I will work closely with you to gain knowledge of your child and their experiences. I acknowledge that you the parents are the primary educators of your child and I aim to provide the best possible care for your child

Being a childminder means I am different from a nursery as I can only look after a certain amount of children at any one time and therefore I can offer lots of individual attention to the children. I also provide a homelike environment and this seems to appeal to parents as they know the child has all the comforts and security of a home setting as well as having other children to play with. I look after children of mixed age so your child will learn to be comfortable around older and younger children.

I am also extremely flexible which comes in handy if either parent works shifts, I can also offer care for your child from babyhood right through to secondary school which means your child will have a great sense of security and continuity whilst with me.

Whilst your child is in my care they will participate in lots of different activities such as role play, dress up, crafts, stories, dancing, cooking, and lots more!

We also visit the library weekly and the local toddler group a couple of times a week to give your child the experience of interacting with a large group of children which will benefit them for when they start school. I also make good use of the local parks and playgrounds.

 

All food is healthy and freshly cooked at home
