Nancy Walker "ALONG FIFTH AVENUE" Tryout 1948 Program

This is a rare four page playbill from the Pre-Broadway (includes one cut song) tryout of the musical revue "ALONG FIFTH AVENUE" at the Shubert Theatre in Boston. (The production would open January 13th, 1949 at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City and run for 180 performances.) ..... The musical starred NANCY WALKER and featured JACKIE GLEASON (who stepped in when Walker's co-star WILLIE HOWARD collapsed on stage in Philadelphia), HANK LADD, CAROL BRUCE, DONALD RICHARDS, VIOLA ESSEN, JOHNNY COY, VIRGINIA GORSKI, JOYCE MATTHEWS, DICK BERNIE, LOUISE KIRTLAND, GEORGE S. IRVING, JUDYTH BURROUGHS, ZACHARY SOLOV, LEE KRIEGER and WALLACE SEIBERT ..... The four page playbill measures 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and list of musical numbers, but no cast photos or bios. (Note: The playbill has been photographed against a red background and does not have a border.) .....
