You are bidding on a Naim NAP250 olive power amp. I would describe it as very good condition - as you know these are very substantially built amps. However, there are a couple of small areas on the top where someone has taken a black marker pan to make it look black again. You need to be close to the amp to see this and, otherwise, it is in surprisingly good condition.
The only reason this one is cheaper is because it is a Naim employee built version and therefore has no serial number. I have had this amp checked out by my local Naim dealer as I was going to get it recapped, but in the end it did not require this. As you will note from my other auction, I have a recapped 250 up for sale too and I can 100% honestly say that I cannot notice any difference between the 2. If you live locally you are more than welcome to come and have a listen for yourself. It sounds superb.
It has also had a very easy life since I bought it as it has had very little use as it has been part of a 2nd home cinema system to power my rear speakers. Probably a bit of an overkill, but it sounded great!!! I am selling because I need to go back to just one system
As it is a fair bit cheaper than one with a serial number, there is at least money to play with if you ever did need to recap it. However, it has been fine all the time I have had it. Unfortunately there is no box for this one, but if it has to be sent, I will ensure it is packed with lots of bubble wrap in as decent a box as I can find. Shipping is expensive because of the insurance value - items up to £500 are £5 + VAT but items from £501 - £1000 are £10 + VAT. You are more than welcome to organise your own courier to collect the amp instead - of course local pickup is much preferred.
I am looking to be paid by bank transfer, cheque or, of course, cash on collection. If you cannot pay these ways and are looking to pay by Paypal I must ask you to contact me to discuss this, as this form of payment does not suit me at all for items of high value.
Sensible offers will be considered.
