Far from being merely "girlie pictures," these photos were elevated to a level formerly only occupied by oil paintings. Containing some of the most striking photographs of the female nude ever done, this body of work stands as an unequaled monument to taste and talent. "The Beauty of Female Form" is becoming more difficult to obtain since its inclusion in Alessandro Bertolotti's "Books On Nudes." Published in 1934, this book is in VERY GOOD CONDITION! for its age and especially to be 75 YEARS OLD!!! ALL PAGES ARE PRESENT!!! and tightly bound with NO TEARS!!! or any markings, other than an old pencilled in price on the front free endpaper. The hinges are strong and the binding is tight. This is a RARE!!! book seldom offered at NO RESERVE!!! so...GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!!! ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHERS: Bertram Park was a highly regarded establishment photographer whose body of work encompassed both society portraits, still life, and nudes. He exhibited as part of the European avant-garde movement in the first International Salon of the Photographic Nude which took place in Paris in 1933. Having started in the family firm, manufacturers of artist's materials, Park developed an interest in photography and became a professional portraitist. He was a founder member of the London Salon of Photography in 1910. Park set up studios on Dover Street, London with Marcus Adams and his wife Yvonne Gregory in 1919. He was enormously successful, being obliged to have up to five sittings a day to satisfy the demand for his work. He photographed the British Royal Family, and his reputation was such that various European crowned heads would come annually to his studio to be photographed. His stylish and beautifully composed portrait studies more often relied on dramatic lighting than on elaborate backgrounds. Bertram Park was one of the most successful society photographers of the day.
GOOD LUCK!!!
