LOW PRICE ON THIS BEAUTIFUL FRAMED SIGNED CONNIE SEABOURN RAGAN NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN STYLE PRINT!;

This is a Print by well known Southwestern artist Connie Seabourn Ragan. The print is signed. It is nicely matted in a nice wood frame with glass.

Connie Seabourn / Biography

Although she was selling pieces and winning awards while still in grade school, Connie Seabourn began her professional life as an artist at the age of 18, when she began selling and exhibiting in adult competitions and museum shows. (One of the first "adult" shows she entered was the annual competitive show at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum, Muskogee, OK, in 1969.) While continuing to work as a painter/printmaker and graphic artist, she attended college over the next several years. After receiving a BFA in 1980 from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, she began a full-time, self-supporting career in fine art alone in 1980. After 30+ years as a professional visual artist, she earned an M.Ed. (art education/studio art) from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK. In recent years she has shared her knowledge and experience in art as an adjunct faculty member Rose State College, Midwest City, OK, and the University of Central Oklahoma --while continuing to make, exhibit and sell her art on a regular basis.

Participating in numerous exhibits across the continent, including the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Washington, D.C., the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City, OK, and The Museum of Man, San Diego, CA, Seabourn is included in private collections worldwide. She is also represented in public, permanent collections, including The Smithsonian Museum, Washington, D.C.; the Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ; and the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK.

Her paintings have been used on many magazine and book covers. Some of these are Rainbow Spirit Journeys: Native American Meditations and Dreams by Wolf Moondance, (Sterling Publishing, New York, NY 2000); Peaceful Warrior Nurse by Priscilla Smith-Treudeau (Wealth in Diversity, Cambridge, VT 2001); Divine Passages: Confessions of a Menopausal Woman, by Judith Owens, (W.E.L.L. Publications, OKC, OK, 1996); Body, Mind & Spirit magazine (Providence, RI, Jan-Feb 1993); Artists of the Sun (annual supplement of Santa Fe Reporter, Santa Fe, NM, August 1983); Wildfire magazine (Devon, PA, Fall-Winter 1993-94); and Faces in the Moon by Betty Louise Bell, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (Univ. of OK Press, Norman, OK, 1994). Leanin' Tree, of Boulder, CO, has reproduced many of her images as note cards and her paintings have been used in calendars almost yearly since 1988.

Seabourn is especially proud of some of the feature stories that are about, or include, both her father (prominent American expressionistic painter, Bert Seabourn), and herself. These include "Family Connections", article by Lynne Pyne, Southwest Art magazine, March 1998, Houston, TX, and "Father's Artistic Talent, Love of Art, Shared by Daughter", by Bernice McShane, The Sunday Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, OK, February 22, 1998. A favorite is when she and her father were pictured on the cover of The Oklahoma Gazette, with "Breaking All the Rules", (cover and) inside story by Lisa Smith, Oklahoma City, OK, March 11, 1993. Frequently featured in newspapers as she exhibits at galleries across the country, she has been included in Artspeak, New York City, NY; The Times, Atlanta, GA; Carefree Enterprise, Carefree, AZ; The Park Record, Park City, UT; The Santa Fe Reporter, Santa Fe, NM; Oklahoma Women's Front Page News, Oklahoma City, OK; The Jupiter Courier, Jupiter, FL; and The Desert Sun, Palm Springs, CA. Her lectures, demonstrations and workshops are very popular.

Proficient in various mediums, including oils, watercolors, serigraphy, intaglio and pastel, Seabourn is most comfortable with whatever is in her hands at the moment. She has won many awards in at prestigious museum competitions throughout the country, and her soul-touching works are eagerly collected by knowledgeable art-buyers from New York to California.

Seabourn lives in Oklahoma City, where she continues to explore life, art history, mysticism and religions, transforming her discoveries/thoughts/feelings into her unique and personal artworks.
