In this pack you will find a variety of files to help with the teaching of pupils with SEN, these include SEN process related resources as well as sticker charts, behaviour strategies and passport related files. Files are in Office 2003 format (Powerpoint, Publisher, Word etc please check compatibility) and are fully interactive, therefore you can adapt them to meet your childs needs, add your school logo or change labels, names and colours. The photographs are an example of the types of files and posters within the pack. I have been teaching for 9 years and I use my own resources, unfortunately some people seem to have started to cash in on resources which are not well thought out at all. Our job is time consuming enough and I hope that my resources make life that little bit simpler! Behaviour – Resources include miniature timetables (4 to a sheet) which can be adapted, and also a chart representing red / yellow and green behaviour. These need to be adapted for each child depending on their level of behaviour difficulty. The aim is for a child to gain as many green areas of the timetable in a week as they can (Agree a target at the end of the previous week) and they are awarded a treat if they achieve their target. Great to keep home informed and everyone working together. Also some behaviour diaries in Publisher format which are for child self assessment of behaviour. Child Friendly Target sheets – 10 IEP target sheets for children to take ownership of their own targets football, animal and car themed amongst others. Concentration Cards – Many SEN children have difficulty concentrating for a sustained period of time. These cards are a visual reminder to concentrate for a set target time. Easily adapted to suit. Encouragement – A gold, silver and bronze cup for printing and displaying in class. I use these with whiteboard next to them and children can write their name next to the cups when they have either completed tasks or achieved a certain level of work. Fans – With templates for Emotion Fans (using symbols) children can use these to display how they are feeling. Traffic light fans, for use either by the children or the teacher as a visual aid to show warnings. Thumbs, smiley faces and yes / no / unsure fans allow children to self assess how they are feeling about a situation or task. Keeping Calm – A visual resource which remind children of how they can keep calm if something has upset them. Great for taking to a time out area. Passport Resources – One file including many statements which can be laminated, cut out and threaded onto a key ring. The child can then find the correct statement and show the adult in order to help them communicate. Many of these statements are suitable for secondary school and the issues around having many teachers. However they are fully adaptable and can be tailor made to suit each child, in fact the child should play a role in adapting them. The statements are currently black and white as many children with SEN have different reactions to colour, often plainer communication aids are preferred. SEN Literacy Helpers – One poster containing 3 writing rulers (letters of the alphabet set out on a buff background), a handwriting guide, a reversal poster showing bed as a good model and a hand showing aeiou (which are often swapped by dyslexics) on the tips of the fingers and thumb (as in the signing alphabet.)
Social Skills Pack - A number of differentiated games to improve social skills within children. This pack is also available to buy on its own. Please view my other items for sale if you are interested in buying on its own. Sticker Charts – 20 posters containing sticker charts, easy to personalise. Themes include stars, healthy eating, football, trains, cars, horses, musical, planets, christmas etc. Each chart has 25 areas for stickers. Time Out – When a child is struggling it is often best to let them choose to leave the situation and go to an agreed place. This ideally would be a soft play area within sight of an adult, as children are older it could just be a space outside the classroom. The child can remove themselves from the situation for 5/10/15 minutes but then understand that they are to return to class. During this time the child can calm down. This resource is for cards showing 5/10/15 minutes time out. These files will be sent to you on a disc by first class post. Please note the price of postage also includes the price of the disc the resources are sent on. Payment by Pay Pal only please (postal orders accepted by prior arrangement only). Postage abroad remains the same price however delivery will not be so fast. Many thanks for looking, permission is given for resources to be adapted but people will be reported to ebay if these files are then resold. Please view my other items for more teaching resources :-) |
