With its very wide-angle capabilities, the ZUIKO DIGITAL 11-22mm, F2.8-3.5 lens (35mm camera equivalent: 22-44mm) expands the creative possibilities of the Olympus E-1 digital SLR users. The great light gathering power (f/2.8 at the wide setting) of this Olympus Digital Specific permits shooting at higher shutter speeds in low light conditions, and for greater control over camera shake and subject movement. The superb optics are designed specifically for digital photography delivering the highest image quality from the E-1's proprietary image sensor. Two aspherical glass lens elements prevents aberrations and distortions while a new multi-coating on the first two lenses eliminates ghost and glare that can occur with a wide angle lens. Clarity of image is maintained at all distances and its floating focusing system enables close focusing down to 0.28m (11.02 inches) for close-up macro shots.
