SOUNDHOLE MUTE

Feedback suppression for roundhole electro-acoustic guitars

This unique patented variable mute works by closing off the soundhole, effectively raising the resonant frequency of the guitar's air-cavity, making it less prone to Low-frequency feedback when amplified. The mute simply clips into place and can be removed quickly and easily when required. A soundhole mute is an inexpensive first line of defence in a getting a good feedback-free amplified tone.

   In the recording studio closing the soundhole can help reduce bass-boom from a microphone's proximity-effect when using close-micing techniques.  A unique variable port allows the amount of bass-cut to be adjusted

Suitable for most roundhole guitars with a soundhole diameter of 3.75" to 4".  On guitars where the fingerboard overhangs the soundhole the mute may need to be trimmed to fit. The rear of the mute is lined in 1/8th inch increments to facilitate accurate trimming.

Please note: This mute is not suitable for guitars with raised rosettes such as some Ovation and Yamaha APX models
