Motor Tramp – by John Heygate – published by Jonathan Cape in 1935, this is the account of a two and a half year trip in a new 1930’s MG (which I would guess is an L- or K-Type as references to 6-Cylinder, twin-carb engine are included) around Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria and Italy. A fascinating account of his experiences in the burgeoning Hitler-dominated countries of Central Europe. There was already plenty of evidence of the true authoritarian nature of the Nazi regime. Not commonly found and of interest to the prewar MG enthusiast as well as the historian and travel-writing fan. 343 pages bound in red cloth with blue titling. Very clean and solid condition Dustjacket is a colour copy in a protective sleeve. The text is illustrated with photos of the trip.
