This incredibly comprehensive volume encompasses the Arts and Crafts period, Art Nouveau and Jugendstil, the Vienna Secession, the Wiener Werkstatte, the Bauhaus, De Stijl and the early Modern Movement, European and North American Art Deco and American and Scandinavian mid-Century modernism.

The volume covers everything from Augustus Pugin, Thomas Seddon, and Christopher Dresser to Liberty & Co, WMF, Eric Ravillious, Josef Hoffmann and Jean Puiforcat to St Ives Pottery, Charles Eames, Gio Ponti, Old Hall and Tapio Wirkkala! Among the famous names are innumerable lesser-known ones, making this a truly unsurpassed tool for researching the identity of an unknown maker's signature, monogram or mark.

The book's 448 pages illustrate over 2000 marks and monograms, arranged by type and country. There are separate chapters on ceramics, glass, metalwork and jewellery, graphics, furniture and textiles. The information is then ordered by country in each category.

The countries covered are Britain, USA, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Scandinavia, Russia (the former Soviet Union), Switzerland and Spain.

With full cross-referenced index of all artists, designers and manufacturers featured.

Condition: Excellent. A fabulous used copy with minimal signs of age and use. The are no previous owner inscriptions and the jacket is not priceclipped.

Condition of items

Please note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Unless clearly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician before use.

Returns

Returns are possible, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason.  I'm afraid that straightforward buyer's remorse does not qualify and the cost of return postage is not included in any refund.
