This is a modern longcase clock constructed by a D Riggs of Thornaby (Cleveland, England) and dated 1986. It stands 237cms in height. 57.5cms wide at the hood and 29.5cms in depth, again at the hood. The dial measures 39.7cms in width and is 49.5cms in height. The construction of the case is multi layer plywood which has been veneered in mahogany and oak veneers. The case is heavy and well constructed. The weights appear vintage and the pendulum and weight wheels are of home construction. The movement is exceptionally clean but requires slight repair to allow proper function. An imposing clock!
