Model Summary
This is a Mitsubishi J8M Shūsui; a Japanese World War II rocket-powered interceptor aircraft closely based on the German Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet. The model is supplied in a yellow paint scheme with markings. The model is designed to be displayed with no undercarriage, there is an in-flight display stand provided.
These models are super miniatures in varying scales. The model is made to a good standard of ABS injection moulding; producing a very good level of clip-together fit for all parts (e.g. push to fit). No transfers are required and all pieces are supplied ready for assembly (no sprue cutting required). The mouldings have accurately engraved panel lines and very good pre-painted detail for such small scales.
Model Kit Details
Series 5 of the miniature Aircraft Collection was a limited edition collection of clip-together models produced and marketed by FURUTA (Japan) and released in 2006. The model kit is brand new and supplied bagged with assembly instructions.
The Furuta "Choco Egg" Series of miniature Aircraft are available inside "Kinder Egg" style packaging. This consists of a chocolate (white and milk) hollow egg containing a plastic egg shaped capsule. Each capsule contains a randomly inserted model with instruction leaflet. These models are so impressive, it is surprising that the concept has not been copied here in the U.K.
