Following its launch, Mission’s M-Cube was Immediately recognised as a serious contender in the crowded home theatre sector, confounding critics worldwide with its immersive performance thanks to NXT SurfaceSound technology. M-Cube is a 5.1 channel complete loudspeaker system designed to envelope movie fans in surround sound of the highest quality.
Five NXT-based satellite loudspeakers are paired with a powerful subwoofer to create a multi-award winning system that looks as distinctive as it sounds. The cube-shaped satellite speakers are the result of Mission’s collaborations with product designers, Seymourpowell and feature interchangeable wraps to revolutionise the way consumers integrate home theatre into their living environment. M-Cube is available in two standard finishes, Ivory and Midnight, with further colour adaptability provided by a central coloured fabric wrap. The lighter (Ivory) satellite is fitted with a ‘mushroom’ wrap, whilst the darker (Midnight) finish is fitted with a ‘slate’ wrap as standard. Three further fabric wraps, ‘umber’, ‘ruby’ and ‘olive’ are included in the M-Cube pack.
The satellites are constructed from cast aluminium and thick-walled polycarbonate that, in combination with the fabric wraps, create a warm to cold, soft to hard contrast that encourages a tactile experience. Additionally, thanks to the nature of NXT technology, the speaker grille needed to protect conventional loudspeaker drive units is redundant, taking the system even further from the traditional speaker box paradigm.
In choosing NXT for its M-Cube system, Mission underlined the technology's unique audio qualities – and proved that flat can be cube-shaped, when designers need it to!
