The Mio A701 PDA Phone is powered by a 520MHz Intel XScale PXA270 processor and has 64 MB RAM and 128 MB ROM. It features a 2.7-inch full-color QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT screen, SDIO expansion slot, and a built-in 1.3-megapixel digital camera.

The device is Mio’s first cellular-enabled device with an integrated GPS (SirfStar III) receiver, offering a mass of functionality in a sleek and handy design. It runs the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and offers quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity as well as Bluetooth.

This had been loaded with the latest Windows Mobile with the smooth scrolling feature (similar to HTC's smoothflow), and a licensed copy of TomTom not a dodgy pirate copy. .

Used daily for watching films (as per photo above), occasionally used as Satnav (I've compared against an actual TomTom side by side and surprisingly this actually ran far smoother and quicker), browsing web, etc. It can hook up to email, read word, excel and powerpoint files and of course there are countless applications.

comes with TWO car-mounts with integrated chargers - very handy if like me you are (a) a two car family (b) too lazy to keep remembering to swop the mounts over :o)
Higher-capacity battery
3 x new screen protectors, will clean screen and fit one before sending. They last for ages so shouldn't need changing often.
Quality metal stylus, the original plastic one is included also
Unused, quality leather holder
PC docking station, ideal to leave plugged into the PC, simply slot it in and it will sync and charge at the same time

So, a pretty all encompassing device, a PDA, a phone, a proper satnav not the halfway house like on iPhone or similar...

Bad points? There are a couple of scratches on the silver paint where it's been placed in the docking station a bit sloppily, also a tiny mark on the screen which really you only notice when it's either a full white or full black screen. I've tried to show these on the close-up picture.
