Mini Cooper 997cc Engine and Gearbox.

Completed approx 5000miles since a rebuild to the following specification. 

Cylinder head: 12G295 Cooper head (Not original) modified by Richard Longman to race specification, race quality inlet and exhaust valves, bronze guides, lead free, fully ported etc. (Cost over £500 new!)

Rocker gear: S forged rockers (original on early 997's), with offset bushes and post to suit

Engine: rebored and fitted with Powemax pistons, all balanced.

Camshaft and Timing gear. MG metro wide lob cam with duplex gears and chain.

Crankshaft damper: S two piece damper, again standard on early 997's

Flywheel and Backplate: Standard diaphragm clutch flywheel lightened with S 270 backplate lightened and all balanced. (Not original) 

Gearbox: Remote type 3 Synchro close ratio (Cooper)  helical gear set, baulk ring synchromesh, B type gears fitted with central oil pick up.

Differentail: 3.7 fitted with competition diff pin, output shafts for rubber couplings.

What you see in the picture is what you get can possible find correct tappet chest cover and a rocker cover if required.

Sold as seen and advertised but only removed four weeks ago and was running fine on twin Su's and LCB.(Not included in sale)
