Mini-Circuits ZEDC-15-2B Gold SMA 1MHz..1GHz Wideband Directional Couplers (Qty.2)
On offer is one pair, 2 new old stock wideband directional coupler modules by Minicircuits. While they are new, I believe that they were removed from new equipment rather than being in original packaging - but are certainly in 'as new' condition. They are connectorised, with gold SMA female connectors and thus are ideal for use on the test bench.
- 50 Ohm impedance, 15dB coupling
- Excellent directivity - typically 30dB
- Very Wide bandwidth - 1MHz ... 1000MHz
- Rugged construction - shielded case
These would be great in a SWR meter, or level control loop on the output of a signal generator or oscillator. Also for sampling the signal in an RF (amplifier, multiplier, etc) chain for frequency/level monitoring.
Arranged back to back they would form the basis for a fine HF/VHF/UHF VSWR meter/antenna analyser covering ham band to include the 70cm band at the top end, down to the 160m band at the low end. Having two separate couplers rather than a single coupler with fwd and refl ports usually gives better performance, as a mismatched load applied to either will not affect the other.
One of the best online intros to Directional Couplers is by Mini-Circuits themselves at

Price Reference:
Minicircuit's list price is $64.95 USD each, around $140 AU the pair but then there's duty & shipping on top which can be significant. I have only a very few of these professional modules, but starting at a reasonable price while they last.
About RFPlus
RFPlus just turned three years old! Many thanks to all my customers who have supported me, both here and in the UK.
Speaking of which, I shall be heading back to the UK at the end of July for almost a year, and although I'll
continue to sell from there, the range of items will be a bit different.
Being a hobbyist and experimenter for the past 30 years, I started selling parts as RFPlus on Ebay 3 years ago. Initially it was
an attempt to reduce the boxloads of bits I'd accumulated
to a more manageable collection, as well as generate some income to support my hobby. In that
regard I cannot claim success, as I'd swear there are now more bits than ever before and I spend
more time Ebaying than I do soldering. On the other hand I've had a great time meeting folks up
here and 'enabling' the hobby by supplying others with the bits they need (including to many who
never knew they needed them!). It's always great to hear about your projects!
Most of the parts I offer are surplus from my own hobby projects, and/or were bought in a larger
quantity than needed to get a good price. Many I have more of, some are one offs or in very
limited quantity and may only appear once or twice. Many are now obsolete and hard to find. You
might like to click here to
see my other auctions.
Depending upon where you are, you might be able to source parts cheaper
locally, so please shop around. However, given the competitive shipping rates I offer worldwide
(unlike many vendors, I don't charge for 'handling') it'll likely cost more to drive to your
local store and back so please bear this in mind when comparing.
RFPlus is obviously not a big business, but I do try to give all my customers a good deal and
I'm happy to be judged on my
feedback.
Many thanks to all of you who left such kind comments, and please don't
hesitate to let me know where I might do better in future (though preferably in email rather
than feedback)! For example, a customer from Holland recently suggested I send out a note when I dispatch items, so you will notice this has now become part of my process. All suggestions gratefully received!
General Information
-
Parts are generally "new, old stock" unless otherwise stated. They are sold 'as is' but
guaranteed non DOA. In other words, I've never had a faulty one, but haven't individually tested
every item (they are new, after all). If there's a problem, I'll try to send a replacement or
refund, your choice.
-
All information contained in the listing is correct to the best of my knowledge - but
that doesn't make it true. I can't always amend active listings but will always try to
incorporate corrections in future listings. If a part isn't exactly what you were expecting or
are prepared to accept then just let me know and we'll sort it out.
-
Unless specified, all photographs are taken by myself of the actual parts on offer, or those
from the same box/batch.
-
As a small private seller I'm not yet required to register for GST or VAT, so no extra taxes to
add.
-
I am happy to work out the lowest cost for postage, but I have not yet managed to get Ebay to
calculate this correctly, especially for a selection of different items. If you are not happy
with the Ebay calculated amount, please request an invoice via the checkout process rather than
paying straight away. If you have already paid then it is hard to make small refunds.
-
Generally I will post to Australian destinations using the Large Letter (2 business days) service.
For overseas destinations the Airmail letter (5-6 days) service is usually sufficient. If you would like
another service (faster and/or trackable) at your cost, then let me know.
-
Whilst I'd like to be able to guarantee speedy delivery, once the packages are posted I am
reliant upon Australia Post. Usually they'll arrive within a day or so, but please be patient,
as post can take a week or two. If your parcel hasn't arrived in a
timely manner then please get in touch and I will try and find out what happened.
-
Payment via Paypal is probably most convenient for the majority of folks. For UK customers or
Australian customers, payment may be made via direct deposit into my bank account, and
cheques/postal orders are usually OK by prior arrangement (though I will wait for funds to clear before
posting).
-
Often I will use recycled packaging to reduce cost, while ensuring robust transport. I always
appreciate suggestions for improvements and prompt notification of any problems in this area via
messages or email.
-
Positive feedback is valued and I try to do my utmost to deserve yours.
Please leave feedback when you receive an item and I'll know it arrived safely.
