The scanner is in PERFECT NEW UNUSED AND BOXED cosmetic and working condition, totally complete, including :New Black MS9540 Scanner * Full hands free stand * 9 pin RS232 cable * Stand hard mount kit * Full printed manuals * European (or optionally North American) power supply * power cable These are under manufacturers warranty until 2012. The model is the Voyager MS9540 "Codegate" which (unlike the cheaper MS9520) can be used as a triggered point and shoot laser when out of the stand and when in the stand the scanner automatically senses barcodes passing underneath it and gives instant automatic scanning. As with all my scanners, this one is offered with support, returns policy and warranty. For European customers with a VAT number or International customers outside of Europe, VAT WILL NOT APPLY AND THE PRICE WILL REDUCE BY ABOUT 13% please contact The scanner attaches to a standard female 9 pin RS232 serial COM port. Your software application may demand a RS232 scanner, but if not, don't worry so long as you have a COM port to connect to. The scanner works just like a keyboard wedge or USB scanner, but does not need a ps/2 keyboard or for that matter, a USB port ! Just attach the cable to the pc COM port and power up. Install the Metrologic 'Serial Wedge' utility (supplied) then scan a barcode. The characters from the barcode appear on screen at the current cursor position as if they had been typed in, so any application that will accept typed characters will work with this scanner ! This sensitive scanner has a typical maximum range on medium density codes of up to 10 inches, and is great for reading on curved surfaces, awkward items, small or badly produced codes. Disk Manuals are included in case you need to format the barcode, add extra characters, enable different barcode types etc. I have sold barcoding technology since 1989 and as with all my other scanners I can offer full technical support and advice.
