Cast metal hand painted enameled roaring African Lion on solid marble oval base.  The sculpting is reminiscent of Wilhelm Kuhnert, famous for paintings of African Lions and wildlife.  The Lion itself is marked GERMANY.  Tip of tail has been broken off, but does not distract from the beauty and age of this piece.  Stands 3.75 in. tall overall, with a 1 inch thick marble base 7.75 in. long x 4.5 inches wide.
