Many modern Turbochargers are often replaced by new or reconditioned units when a small repair may be all that is necessary.
Often, on new VNT turbochargers the compressor wheel fins are sometimes coked up with carbon and need cleaning and rebalancing.
If you have caught your Turbo problem early it may just be that the seals and bearings are in need of replacement, when left to get worse you are inviting all sorts of possibilities - your turbo may seize suddenly and rapidly drain your engine of it's oil.
A basic repair would include collection of the customers removed and packaged unit, replacement of the oil seals and bearings, re-balancing and return carriage.
Further damage as discovered by the engineer will be quoted on to rectify up to the total figure of the equivalent of an exchange recon unit. If you do not wish to proceed with the repair we will happily return the unit to you for no other charge than the two way carriage (usually £12.00 + vat mainland UK).
Our engineers will need the unit for 1/2 full business days depending on how busy we are.
Please note that a parcel collected may not arrive with us until late in the afternoon on the following day - this would not count as a full business day.
The unit will need to be suitably boxed for transit. Our carrier will only give us a collection day and not a specific time so someone will need to be present on the day of collection to sign. Failed collections as a result of the customer not being present on day of delivery/collection will result in a further carriage charge - we can collect the unit from any address so it may be more convenient to take it to your work address or garage.
We always try our level best to find a cost saving way out for our customers but will not cut corners if it in any way compromises the integrity of both the unit and our standards of excellence.
**Please ensure that any underlying engine problem which may have caused the turbo failure has been rectified, failure to correct these problems will in almost all cases result in the failure of the replacement**
