Melo melo melo

A fantastic specimen, large, ovate, the spire scompletely obliterated by the posterior outer lip margin; surface smooth with axial growth striae, well idented plaits, aperture large, widely ovate, out lip thin and arcuate, colour light to heavy orange with a very unusual patch of dark brown;

aperture bright to light orange yellow with a distinctive line dividing the aperture into equal parts.

Sculptured with numerous, curved, long closed and open spines.

A true specimen of this lovely sea shell.

Weighs in at 0.35Kg.

Measures 8" and picked up from Palawan.

Very unusual marking.
