This is a good quality teak sideboard in 1970's style from the McIntosh Company of Kirkcaldy.
The cabinet is in a minimalistic style with an attractive mitred bead to the front edges and drawer rails, the teak veneers have been selected for quality and interest of graining on all surfaces, and the whole is supported on an attached solid teak stand with turned legs and an oval shaped stretcher.
The four equal sized doors are hung on brass full length hinges with brass stays and magnetic catches and have distinctive triangular teak handles with a recessed finger grip, they enclose one open cupboard, two cupboards with solid mahogany half shelves and one cupboard with a full shelf. The two drawers have solid mahogany linings and one has has a black baize drawer bottom with mahogany partitions to house cutlery, the partitions are easily removable for cleaning or to put the drawer to another use.
The cabinet is in good condition,no scratches, dents or stains and the interior is clean and ready for use.
The solid teak stand has a 'rubbed' mark or shallow groove on the two front legs where something has been dragged past it on a regular basis, these marks can be seen in the photographs.
