Specifications

Channels: 10 Bands including UK, EU and Poland. AM and FM.

Features: (from left to right) Rotary on/off/vol control, AM/FM button, CH9/19 button, Squelch/Auto squelch rotary control, Up/Down Channel buttons. The rest of the display is conventional with a green LED channel display and illuminated TX/RX and AM/FM led's.

The back of the rig has the 12 Volt DC power lead, Extension speaker socket and SO239 antenna socket.

The set comes with a very nice microphone, which seems very sturdy. It plugs into a 4 pin socket(uniden wired) on the front panel. Also included is an Operator's Manual, power lead, mounting bracket and side screws.

Performance

Receive: Plenty of volume for a small radio, audio quality is as good as larger radios of twice the price. Sensitivity is very good too. Squelch is very sharp, only needs to be set to 10 o'clock to cancel out all noise, Auto-squelch seems to do the job very nicely too.

Transmit: Good quality audio on transmit too, deviation easily hits 2khz and microphone is pretty sensitive without being over the top. Power is set to exactly 4 watts.

Build Quality: Better than most other radios which cost alot more money.

Recommendations

The Maxon CM10 is a great value rig with all you need to get on the air. It's simple and easy to use and looks and feels like it will be a good reliable rig.

If you are looking for a simple to use and sturdy rig, but dont need any fancy features, the Maxon will be extremely hard to beat, especially with its low price tag. Highly recommended.
