| Inorder to assist people buying our stock, we try our best to grade allof our vinyl records as accurately as possible to give you the bestservice. We realise there is nothing worse than receiving a record thatis not in the condition expected.
At Voxpopmusic we always grade the vinyl first and then the sleeve. Forexample Ex/VG+ would mean the vinyl is in excellent quality and thesleeve is slightly better than a UK very good. |
| NEW: It's a new record from the distributor | | SS: Still sealed, in factory fresh condition | | M: Mint, We would use this for a UK factory fresh condition item. (not all UK records come sealed when new) | | M-: Mint Minus, It should look and play as above, however it would be a record we know has played/previously owned. | | EX:Excellent, The record shows some signs of having been played, but thereis very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packagingmight have slight wear and/or creasing. This would satisfy all exceptthe most demanding collector. | | VG+:Better than very good and the most common condition for second handrecords. A grade used extensively in the UK. Good enough condition fora DJ, will play through without distortion or off putting crackle. | | VG:Very good, the record has obviously been played many times, butdisplays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeablesurface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear onthe cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.Good for collectors and completists. | | G:Good, the record has been played so much that the sound quality hasnoticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mildscratches. The cover and contents may have suffered from folding, scuffing of edges, spin splits/repairs, discolouration, etc. |
Any condition that falls below these grades would be clearly explained in our description attached to the record.
In addition to this you may notice we occasionally employ the use of afurther +/- indication to fill in the huge gaps left by the traditionalUK and US grading formats.
CD’s & Cassettes: All CD’s and Cassettes are sold with theintention that they will play as they did when first sold. Visual marksto CD surfaces will be described with the sliding scale as indicatedabove, as will the packaging. Any exceptions will be noted in thedescription. |
