Heat Treating – Heat Treatment of Aluminum Alloys 1942 on CD with polypropylene case containing in total 35 Pages of text and illustrations explaining the why and how to of heat treating for strenghening airframe components. There are extra items also included (see below).
The applications for heat treating aluminum alloys goes way beyond airframe fabrication. These technologies are employed wherever strength is needed. This title discusses the state of the science in 1942.
It is an ideal reference for engineers and students with an interest in tempering technology as it was in the 1940s.

The writing style is fluid and uncomplicated – in our opinion much better than the newer text books which tend to dumb down language to the point of being unintelligable.
This e-book is as per the original manual - a beautiful little gem. There are 35 pages with illustrations per the original. As with all of our CD publications, they are high resolution – text and graphics are sharp and clear. Where fold-out pages are present, they are presented as seen and not chopped down or altered in any way.
All our CD publications are PC and Mac friendly and print enabled. Purchasers of our product are entitled to print for personal use. Further uses can be granted as long as permission is sought from us in advance and the appropriate publishing credits acknowledged in each publication. We are here to help and we are very much committed good practice in publishing and the preservation of history.
EXCERPT / EXTRACT:
1. [The] Purpose of Plaster Mock-Up. – A plaster mock-up, a type of which is shown in Fig. 1 is used for developing the basic contours of airplane sections , especially where irregular and complicated shapes are located. The section shown is that of the intersection of a vertical fin a with a part with a part of the fuselage b and a part of a horizontal stabilizer c.
2. Plaster casts can be taken off such sections to form the necessary tooling, such as forming dies and punches. Parts can be checked for contour and trim by direct comparison to the master mock-up. Many errors in lofting and engineering are caught before expensive tooling is done, by checking engineering prints against the mock-up.
EXTRAS:
