Manual Press Tool Making Presstool Fabrication
"Press Tool Making" - First published 1936 - Full of technical explanations and superb illustrations now on CD. Original publisher: Technical Press London. Author: Ernest Perry. 92 pages. Atill relevant today. An Absolutely excellent referrence especially if you're involved in restoration work and need to replicate the techology of the age. Prints easily and clearly - Professionally recorded CD - PC and Mac friendly.

This e-book is as per the original manual - a beautiful little gem. The first thing you'll notice when you view our CD is that no matter how closely you zoom in on each page, the resolution does not break down. This is only possible when you produce in high resolution as we do.

This manual on CD is exactly faithful to the original – no chopped down pages or cropped pictures. Everything is sharp and clear. All scanning was done in full colour and at higher than 300ppi resolution. This is necessary because the original has a lot of subtle changes in tone and contrast owing to its age. We can't stand black and white bitmap scanning - it makes an otherwise beautiful print look worse than a photocopy.

This e-book publication is print enabled. Purchasers of our product are entitled to print for personal use. Further uses can be granted as long as permission is sought from us in advance and the appropriate publishing credits acknowledged in each publication. We are here to help and we are very much committed good practice in publishing and the preservation of history.

Excerpt:

In preparing this book, my main object is to help those good fitter and others who wish to become toolmakers.

I have tried to miss nothing in my endavour to explain various methods of attaining that degree of accuracy that is necessary in a tool which is to produce thousands of like components, whether it is a jig, fixture, or press tool.

Several things are necessary in a good toolmaker, amongst which are foresight, to enable him to start and finish the job at the right place, accuracy, and confidence.

Having kept as far as possible from technical terms, I can assure all readers that the methods of which I write have "tried out" over and over again, to find out the most effective way of eliminating error, and if my instructions are followed, there is little or no reason why any conscientious mechanic should not become a competent and efficient toolmaker.

Shipping is free and we send to every location world-wide. Delivery is usually accomplished in 4 to 9 days. If lost in transit (rare, but it can happen) we replace without quibbling and without extra charge to the buyer.
