This boost controller is based on a ball and spring mechanism. A simple turn of a screw is all it takes to lower or raise your boost. It is NOT a bleed valve.
Why are bleed valves bad? Fitting a bleed valve does increase the amount of boost you can run, however they are less than ideal as it is like having one big constant boost leak & leaking un-metered air is not good.
Our MBC comes with instructions. This is the only boost controller you will ever need. Each Boost controller is tested and will hold enough boost for nearly any application.
They install in less than half the time of an expensive electronic type.
This controller is built to last and utilises a stainless steel spring & preload adjustment bolt, no maintenance – very little to go wrong, we have customer with 10 year old MBCs still going strong.
The first step in making a turbo car faster is raising the boost. Its been dyno proven that this design manual boost controller can spool a turbo just as fast, just as strong, and reduce lag even more than the electronic ones do.
Remember, this is the highest quality boost controller you will ever use and also the easiest.
The wastegate valve will usually start to open at around half the spring pressure of the actuator, this is called wastegate creep (as you have the pressure of the exhaust gases acting on the wastegate also). With a standard actuator and bleed valve fitted the wastegate starts to open from as low as 3 psi loosing valuable boost response, with a MBC there in no boost pressure applied to the actuator at all until the pre-determined boost level is reached and then and only then the boost pressure is allowed to flow through he MBC to open the actuator.

Hi there.
I purchase your manual boost controller just over a month ago and fitted it a couple of days later. Having had a bit of experience with tuning turbocharged cars, I was astonished at just how solidly built and accurate this boost controller is. This particular one is being used in my Volvo T5, it took moments to fit and adjustment was very simple.
I set the boost pressure to a low starting point and upon the first test drive my calibrated boost gauge showed 8 PSI (stock boost). From that point I simply unlocked the lock-nut, turned the adjuster half a turn clockwise and relocked the lock-nut. A few turns and test runs later and the pressure was set to 12 PSI (my SAFE target boost level). Upon checking the peak boost pressure yesterday – a month after installation, the pressure is still showing as exactly 12 PSI.
