About Us

HobUK first went live at the start of 2004 making it possible for us to serve the entire UK market, our group however has been trading since 1974 in both hire equipment and power tools for every need, each of our depots are open to both public and trade. 
When purchasing petrol machinery from us it is our in-house policy to pre delivery inspect each and every one before they are dispatched, this makes sure that when you receive your goods they are ready to use with little or no assembly required.
Over the years our group has built a strong reputation for not only supplying quality tools and equipment but for having the knowledge and after sales to back up our service, our staff are kept up to date with the latest changes to products and the health and safety laws that surround these tools, we also have fully trained workshop staff on hand throughout each and every day so that you can be sure that the tools you buy are the right ones.
We are not sub dealers or third party dealers - every power product we sell, we are main agents for, this means that we deal direct with the manufacturer, and that we can offer the very best prices and maintain your machines with both warranty claims and servicing, we are also able to offer spares for both new and old machines.

Payment

We accept payment by: Credit or Debit Card, Paypal, Postal Orders, Bank Transfer. All Auction and "Buy It Now" prices include VAT. 
PayPal payment preferred through eBay, however if paying by cheque please allow for the payment to reach us and clear before expecting delivery, cheque payments tend to take 5-7 days to bank and clear.
If available on the listing you can contact customer services to make payment by telephone by all major credit and debit cards.
 
Please do NOT send cash via the post. All cheques should be made payable to HobUK.

Delivery

We take great care packaging every item to ensure safe shipment to you. We charge a postage fee only to cover our costs of materials and labour. Once your order has been processed and we have received cleared payment, your item will be dispatched as soon as possible. Please allow extra time if you are paying by cheque. 
UK Mainland: Charged at £5.95 for next day service*
Highlands & Off Shore Islands: Charged at £10.00 on a 2-3 day service
N. Ireland: Charged at £10.00 2-3 day service only

Products Covered By The P.D.I. (Pre Delivery Ispection)
Chainsaws: ALL Chainsaws come fully assembled complete with bar and chain fitted, all you need to do is fuel it with a 50:1 mix and fill the chain oil tank and you are ready to use the machine. Note, when new chains are fitted to chainsaws, it is advisable to check the tension of the chain after the first few cuts, details on how to do this will be in your product manual.
Hedge Trimmers: Handheld hedge trimmers and cutters are fully assembled, and inspected, once you have fuelled the machine with a 50:1 mix, it is ready for immediate use. Pole Hedge Trimmers are again fully inspected, run and assembled, however due to the size of the machine the cutting head and handle does need to be fitted by you, these simply clamp on and can be done by following the manual supplied with the machine, however if you require help, just contact customer services.
Brush Cutters & Line Trimmers: Again fully inspected, run and drive shafts assembled and fitted to the engines, however the cutting head, guard and handles need fitting, full instructions can be found in the manual, or contact customer services.
Garden Blowers/Vacuums: These machines are inspected, and run prior to dispatch, all you need to do is couple the tubes to the unit, this is done by the customer, most blower/vacuums come with either a choice of blower tubes, or vacuum attachments.
Split Shaft Multi-Use Machines: The engine units are inspected, run and assembled, the loop handled machines come complete, however although we fit the handle it is left loose, this is due the operator needing to adjust it to suit them, Cow horn or 'U' handle options do require fitting. Attachments are supplied boxed, although pruner attachments do have the bar and chain fitted by us.
All 2-Stroke machinery supplied by HobUK has 100ml of 2-Stroke oil included, this should be mixed together with exactly 5 litres of unleaded petrol, ensuring that you get a 50:1 fuel to oil mix. Stihl 4-Mix engines also run on a 2-Stroke mix, however Makita 4-Stroke engines, run on standard petrol and have a separate oil chamber, again we supply oil for these machines free of charge.

Returns & Terms

We warrantee and represent that the goods are as described in the above listing. We specifically disclaim any implied warranties of title, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Customers should satisfy themselves that any item choice made is suitable for their intended purpose or use. We pride ourselves on our customer service. In the rare event that you have a problem with your item please contact us and we'll be happy to help. Customer services are available on a local rate number 0845 00 99 870.
Genuinely faulty goods will be replaced or money refunded, however we must be advised of any faulty goods upon receipt of the item. If you are in any way unhappy with any of your purchases, you can return all unused goods, in their original packaging, within 7 days for a refund or exchange. When returning items please include the origional, or a copy of the invoice that we supplied, if you have any questions or concerns you should email us with a description of fault or reason for return along with the make, model or name of the product and we will be happy to advise and provide a solution. At HobUK we also meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998.
Should a replacement product be required we will arrange for our couriers to deliver the new item and collect the faulty/damaged item at the same time, this will minimise the inconvenience to you, please make sure that the item due to be collected is correctly packed or wrapped, as the couriers will not collect non-packaged goods, and will be unable to leave the replacement, if they are unable to collect the return, you may be liable for a second delivery attempt charge of £7.30 + Vat.
