Magic Chakte Viga &Gaboon Ebony handspliced snooker cue

• Hello Welcome! This orange cue is highly figured, very unique one which is made by Michael Adams. It is a very excellent and rare good cue that is hand spliced by the Chakte Viga with Gabon Ebony. Chakte Viga is now very rare and in the near future will be unavailable, most likely for many years. Michael got this wood from one of his recent travels to the tropics, he came across large, well-figured logs of Chakte Viga and couldn't pass them up! It is very stiff and dense with closed grain. The Chakte Viga is a dream to finish, taking a glassy, silky-smooth finish, it is best known for its beautiful, golden orange wood and subtle grain pattern. The color of Chakte Viga is very amazing, it varies with age and exposure. It is initially light salmon to reddish orange brown, or pale pink to rich red-brown, but ages to a fairly uniform reddish orange. Moderately hard but a joy to work despite a slight odor when working. We use 4 pieces of this wood to splice the cue and it looks deluxe, grand & sharp.
• Another main role is the black Gabon Ebony, it matches with the Chakte Viga very well. It is the Greek word for "fruit of the gods". Historically drinking goblets were made from its wood, as they believed it was an antidote for poison, and its use would ward off their enemy's evil intent. This may be the origin for many that think today, that a wooden snooker butt made of Gabon ebony has magical power. Gabon ebony wood is the most pure black of the lot, but can have occasional chocolate brown seams, especially in the middle of larger chunks. The wood is very dense thus no fillers are necessary. It finishes to a beautiful sheen, with limited effort.
• Why does Michael select the Chakte Viga to make the cues?For its color--Orange is a very beautiful sharp color and it is the most living one in the warm color series, it stands for Health. You can also use the thinner to judge it too.
