Mackintosh-inspired "Stitchery" pattern, inspired by a mural from Mackintosh's designs for "House for an Art Lover". The designs were made for a competition (the usual way of winning contracts at the time) but he didn't win. The house (or as near as possible) has now been built in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.
The outline of the design is printed onto calico fabric, which is then overstitched. This pack includes the pre-printed calico fabric only.
It's a good opportunity to experiment with colours & stitches. We chose to complete our model in back stitch & chains, but the world is your oyster here.
You will need one 8-metre skein of each of the following to stitch the design as shown (DMC shade numbers): 223 - shell pink medium, 433 - brown medium, 754 - peach flesh light, 931 - antique blue medium, 989 - light green.
This is left-over stock from when Stitched Up finished treading a couple of years ago.
