  THIS COIL HAS BEEN WOUND USING MY AVO DOUGLAS COIL WINDING MACHINE THIS PRODUCES A VERY PRECISE COIL.

THIS TYPE OF COIL IS VERY DIFFICULT TO WIND EVENLY BY HAND

 

THE COIL WAS ORIGINALLY AN AUSTRALIAN INVENTION OF THE 1930sWHICH PERFORMS VERY WELL IN SIMPLE CRYSTAL RADIO CIRCUITS

IT WAS FOUND  BY ADDING A SECOND VERY TIGHTLY WOUND SECONDARY DIODE COUPLING COIL THAT IT WOULD SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE SELECTIVITY AND REDUCE THE DAMPING  PROBLEMATIC WITH SINGLE COIL DESIGN CRYSTAL SETS

THE COIL IS 4.5 INCHES(106mm Approx) LONG AND 1.5 INCHES (31mm Approx) DIAMETER
