This superb clock has a very fine triple FUSEE MONTH DURATION With chiming movement with Westminster, Whittington and Winchester chime.
This is a very rare chance to acquire a magnificent quailty Bracket clock made to the highest specification for GARRARD - THE CROWN JEWELLERS by the renowned makers F.W. ELLIOTT of LONDON!
This clock was made as a VERY limited (and expensive!) edition of only 350 pieces, this one being hand engraved number 130 The clock is exceptional even by Elliott standards as it has a substantial HAND ENGRAVED movement which has a duration of 30 days! The movement has a tune change switch to the rear and WESTMINSTER, WHITTINGTON or WINCHESTER full quarter chiming can be selected as preferred. To the front of the clock is a STRIKE/SILENT lever should you wish only silence!
The back plate to this clock bears the most wonderful hand engraved details including roses engraved around the winding squares and the cartouche with the makers details.
The arch top bracket clock case is made of the finest MAHOGANY and this is mounted with brass pad top and SOLID SILVER MOUNTS, To include halmarked handles and feet, solid silver dial. The dial has the Royal stamp marking the Anniversary of Garrard Clock Co London, The side fret pierced to show the date.
Garrard Anniversary date marks to further enhance the valuable clock. The dial bears an applied armorial and has Royal Palace buildings engraved! The Royal Purple silk lined pierced mahogany sound frets to the sides also have the Royal monogram and date.
The clock is in a very original condition, having been loved for many years. The movement looks to have not been refurbished or repaired, and although running - it would benefit an oil or service in due course. The pierced side panels are perfect as new condition - please see pictures - , superb piano like finish Elliott's favoured for their clocks, and I have seen this on their products before. So to sum up, a very genuine clock that is in exellent genuine condition! A worthwhile point is that this was a VERY EXPENSIVE when new, hence it's rarity and interest for collectors today - it is sure to be an appreciating asset!
The clock is extremely good quality heavy movement inside and the quality nature of it's manufacture - the clock is running well and striking as it should. The solid silver mounts and halmarked silver dial and also the French Polished clock case are in original condition.
