MONTGOMERY CLUB-RARE 1945/53 VISITORS/AUTOGRAPHS BOOK

Montgomery Club. A visitors book, 1945-53, title page illuminated in red, autograph of Field Marshal Montgomery beneath dated 24th January 1945, followed by nine pages of autographs on seven leaves including signatures of Clementine Churchill, Air Chief Marshal R. Brooke-Popham, Major General George Lindsey, Major General Charles H. Bonesteel, and other high ranking US Army personnel, one page dated 29th June 1945 containing sixteen signatures of mostly Hollywood film studio executives, including Darryl F. Zanuck, Jack L. Warner, Barney Balabun, Sol Lesser, S.H. Fabian, Taylor M. Mille, Willey, Harry Cohn, Stuart Palmer, Peter Rathbon, et al, plus num. signatures of Ulster Branch of Old Contemptibles Association, Ensa Sports Brains signatures from New Years Eve 1953, etc., followed by several blanks, a pen and ink vign. title 'Kurhaus Club', dated 23rd August 1947, with ten further pages of contemp. signatures including Montgomery of Alamein,Queen Mary, dated 31st July 1951, plus various other officers, etc., the remainder of the album blank, a.e.g., contemp. brown half morocco, untitled, rubbed, 4to.
The Montgomery Club was a NAAFI complex housed in the Palais d'Egmont in  Brussels. The Kurhaus Club closed on the 6th October 1954 according to the last entry in the book written and signed by Catherine D. Barclay.
