.You are looking at a pair of Hart Audio's Monolith A500 Loudspeakers which are a stereo pair of cabinets. The Monoliths house 12" dual concentric mid and high designated drivers actively powered by a 100w (RMS) amp in each side as well as individual active sub & bass 200w (RMS) studio panel amplifiers for each sides sub drivers which amount to a 13.6" bass driver, the joy is that because there are 9 x 4.5"sub and bass drivers they are able to be highly controlled by the amplifier with little flap, wallow and boom associated with large 15" and 18" drivers. This set-up provides the same bass as a Tannoy Kingdom (£30k) (18") which also utilises a 12" dual concentric driver for mids and HF. The sub and bass drivers only need 200w amplifiers because the filter operating frequencies are low at between 40Hz and 120Hz( but residually through cabinet reverb to as low as 16Hz) and the cone movement is too great with larger amps, 200w will greatly preserve the lifespan of the 9 speakers in each and they are more than bassy enough or your vision becomes wobbly. Also a 100w RMS studio panel active transistor amp powers the mid & HF produced by the 12" dual concentric. The amps are integrated into the backs of the lower enclosures along with the sub and bass amp The option of externally valve powering the 12" driver is available but the onboard transistor amp is a convenient and yes eco-friendly option. To operate an external amp you just flick the fail safe switch at the back, when I say fail safe I mean even if both the external and internal amps are on, they won't interfere with one another. The external amp facility has it's own speaker terminals at the rear of the speaker.
The sound of these speakers is excellent. By far a better speaker than the B&W 802D and beating the Tannoy 18 Kingdom especially on practicalities. But then Kingdoms are £30,000 and the 802D is £12,000 with the glossy piano finish. The speakers you will receive will sound better than anything you've ever heard and you'll be paying me to build them and source all the parts and presentation. They are not piano gloss finished speakers as I'm not a cabinet maker but I strongly believe that they are the best sound in the world. If you want to recreate a club sound in your house then these are the speakers for you as there is nothing on the market today that does it better than Monolith A500's. If you want perfect cabinets it can be arranged but at a cost as I'm not charging over the odds for pretty boxes. The speakers I can assure you will blow your mind and although i can't offer a money back guarantee if they don't match the curtains. I can let you have a listen before you buy. That is if you fancy bringing the family to the Isle of Wight for the day while you slope off to for an ear workout. If you know what all this means then here are some specifications as follows:Drivers :HF 30mm, 9x LF 102.5mm, LF 1 x 300mm Amplitude Linearity (±2dB) :40Hz-12kHz Cut-off Frequencies (-6dB, free-standing) :16Hz, 20kHz Horizontal Dispersion :±80°, Coherent Vertical Dispersion :±10°, Coherent Max. Continuous SPL (1 metre) :123dB Crossover Frequencies :120Hz, 6.5kHz Amplifier Output :Sub & Bass 200W, LF HF 100W, Amplifier input 75w LF HF, Overload Protection : Active MOSFET momentary gain reduction inc thermal tweeter protection Front Panel Indicators :Power On indicator x 2 Dimensions (HxWxD) : 997x 322 x 322mm (42.4" x 13.4" x 13.4") Weight :62kg / 125lbs
The design, concept, construction and production of this speaker has taken a number of years to perfect and although a simple concept, (which are often the best) it is certainly a highly effective speaker and is clear, precise, smooth, punchy and you'll just want to go to bed early so you can wake up and play them loud again. Honestly if you want to know the full details of all the costs involved I can tell you if you insist. But to purchase a pair of pretty boxes with these specifications in the marketplace today will cost well into the order of £350,000-£50000. There are loads of manufacturers some are good some are bad but there is no room for the little guy who just wants to build speakers for a living. The total cost on parts is a little over £2750 and I'm selling these at a "Buy it Now" for £3750. It'll take 30 odd hours to build a pair so I'm making £1000 for a weeks work and all the R&D. A pair of Monolith's will take about 25-28 days to source all the parts and build, with a little lea way I can guarantee your speakers will be dispatched to you within 35 days of your order. Please pay by Paypal using your credit card, that way you'll get full buyer protection from your card company. If you have any trouble with electronics then I can personally deliver and install the speakers at your house.
They only come in black and as I said earlier .
