Moldavite Specimen. Unusual gift idea, display, or great collectors item. This Moldovite/Tektite was probably formed by the impact of a large Meteorite on the surface of the Earth. The immense temperatures melt the earths surface, and under certain conditions form a 'glass like' Tektite. Not all impacts form tektites, in fact most known craters do not have tektites associated with them. When they do form, most are black or brownish in colour, but in a very few areas, Emerald Green, Translucent Moldavites are formed. Needless to say, these are rare, and becoming rarer by the day as there is such a limited supply. This top grade specimen is 67carats, 13.4grams, and approx 37mm x 27mm x 11mm. It comes presented in a free display box, with small laminated display/info/authentication card. This one is of good size, with wonderful ridges, and the best shape available. Own a real piece of Earth history. Supplies will not be around forever and prices will inevitably rise. The photographs are of the Moldavite specimen you will be bidding on, and show the specimen in its normal state, and as held up against light. Please note that Moldavite is a natural, mined, glass like specimen, and may have small chips, which is quite normal. Payment should be made ASAP but no later than 7 days from auction end. Checkout should be completed, particularly when not paying by paypal. I will generally invoice within 24 hours of sales end unless buyers have other bids on items finishing within 7 days. Unless e-mailed to state otherwise, I will allow those items to finish, and combine postage. No Customer has yet contacted me who has been charged any customs duty on delivered items, however, customers outside the E.U. could be charged custom duty on dearer items. I do not refund customs duty. I prefer payment by cheque or postal order from U.K. buyers, but paypal is acceptable, and more buyers actually pay me this way than any other. Overseas buyers should pay by paypal. All postage costs worldwide are shown in the listings when the item is available to overseas buyers. If not shown, please e-mail me direct through Ebay and I will get a price for you. Postage discounts will be given on multiple purchases at sellers discretion. I post from a main Post Office and always obtain proof of posting. Insurance against damage or loss is included in the postage prices shown. Postal Orders only accepted in GBP. Please remember that whilst ebay only provides a space for 'postage', this is in fact, postage, packaging, insurance, and a small handling charge for the great deal of time that goes into listings, photographs, packing and posting, etc.
All items are carefully packed by me in the most suitable packaging for the item sold. All immediate packaging, i.e. bubble wrap, is new, but I try to recycle when possible and often use shoe boxes obtained from the local shoe shop. I do what I can to keep weight down whilst ensuring that items arrive safely. I usually ship three times a week, taking all items to a main Post Office with proof of posting, and all items are insured against damage and loss.
I really don't wish to get into legal jargon here, especially as I have had very few problems with customers in the past. For my part, I only ask that you pay in a reasonable time, seven days being a maximum, unless you e-mail me first as to why you cannot, that you complete 'checkout' in ebay when you buy, and that you read everything before bidding, so you understand the terms of sale and payment methods. If I can see you are bidding on other items, I will usually wait for them to 'go through' and knock a little off the postage when combined. I never hold customers to ransom with feedback as some sellers seem to, I give feedback at the time I print an invoice for sending and ask that you consider leaving me feedback once you have received your item(s). It is an auction, and legally binding, but I'm very understanding, and particularly if you are new to ebay, will not hound you or leave negative feedback if you have 'bid too much by mistake'!! and do not wish to continue with the purchase. Just please contact me and do not ignore my e-mails as sometimes happens, and you will not find a more reasonable seller on ebay.
I work alone and have sold Antiques, Collectables, Reproduction items, Fossils and Minerals, Meteorites and Jewellery for many years, mostly from Shops, Antique Centres and Craft Fairs. I've more recently been selling on ebay and have a good reputation as an honest powerseller with exceptional feedback dealing in quality items, my mineral specimens all being hand picked. I package everything carefully myself and try to post three times a week, which means customers are not kept waiting for items for any length of time. I have never knowingly written anything in a listing that is untrue or misleading, and in part, this is why my feedback is what it is. I send an invoice and card with each sale stating that if you have any problem, to e-mail me through Ebay and I will do my utmost to rectify. I know many of my items are purchased as gifts and I am sometimes asked to send items direct to someone else. I am happy to do this but only if the item is paid by paypal. If you wish the invoice left out so the recipient doesn't know how much you paid for it, just e-mail and let me know at the time of payment. At your request I can attach a small printed card (business card size) with a short message, i.e. 'Happy birthday ????? love Auntie ?????, etc at no extra charge.
Please feel free to contact me by e-mail through Ebay if you require any other information about items for sale.
