This Minolta flashgun was made especially for the early Minolta AF SLR cameras - the 5000, 7000 and 9000 (but not later models - see below). It's extremely compact and lightweight, and in good condition with wide angle diffuser and batteries.

The guide number is 18 (m) or 58 (feet) with ISO 100 film. Quoted range up to 12.8m (42 feet) with f/2.8 lens and ISO 400 film. As with all flashguns, actual range will depend on the conditions. The flash works with lenses down to 35mm, and a diffuser is included to expand coverage to 28mm.

TTL (Through The Lens) automatic exposure system for extremely accurate exposures. Works automatically in all exposure modes, including Program. Automatic fill-in flash in daylight, including slow sync flash in aperture priority mode on the Minolta 7000 and 9000. Works in the camera's autofocus mode, and has an AF illuminator on the front to assist focusing in low light. This operates automatically when required, up to around 5m (16 feet).

The flash is extremely compact and lightweight at just 55mm (2.5 inches) tall on the camera, 75mm (3 inches) square and a mere 135g without batteries. It is nicely made (in Japan) and even has a serial number. Takes 4x AAA batteries, including disposable alkaline (supplied) or rechargeable types, or a 6v Lithium battery.

The flash is in fully working order, and has been checked on our Minolta 7000AF. It's in good condition with just the usual signs of use, including some small scratches (mainly around the hot shoe) and surface scrapes in the plastic finish. The battery contacts are slightly marked (not corroded), but work fine.

No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall it's in good shape!

This flash is suitable for the Minolta 5000, 7000 and 9000 AF SLR cameras ONLY, with conventional hot shoe fitting.

It will NOT fit the later Maxxum, Dynax or Alpha models (such as the 5000i and 7000i) with Minolta's new type of flash shoe, though there was a Minolta adapter available (not included). NOT suitable for Minolta, Konica Minolta or Sony digital cameras, manual focus cameras, or any other make.
