An most unusual Victorian example of a miniature longcase clock. The clock case is made from cast iron. The back of the case is engraved with the Rd No 7042 for the year 1884. The original fitted clock movement works for a short while only, when rocked gently. The knob for adjusting the hands is also missing. The clock stands 10 1/2 inches tall. The clock has clearly been well looked after.
This clock is one from a superb little collection of clocks and miniature longcase clocks purchased recently from an estate sale at a York auction house.
