For your bidding pleasure we present a truly beautiful Milk Glass Hobnail Pattern Sugar Bowl With Opal and Pearl Bead Handles. Milk glass has been around since the l6th century. The term itself was coined in the 20th century. France was the first place milk glass came into vogue and by the early l900's, milk glass was a symbol of the style and taste of American households. This sugar bowl measures approximately 6&3/4" Long Handle to Handle x 3&1/2" Wide x 2&1/2" Tall. It has a very nice scalloped rim and the bowl itself is in the Hobnail pattern. The Handles have Pearl Beaded Glass on both sides and when held to the light, you can see the milky opalescent glow. It rests on a 2"x 3" Raised Base that is unmarked except for a manufacturer's straw mark that resembles a letter V. It is in excellent condition with only some straw marks that occur in manufacturing. Perhaps you have the matching creamer and are in need of this sugar bowl. It would also be a nice addition to any Milk Glass collection. Good Luck In Your Bidding, as always! |
