MG MGB GT RED 1967 WIRE WHEELS TAX EXEMPT

Here is a 1967 MGB GT with wire wheels. i bought as a project 2 weeks ago but have been offered a Lambretta scooter that i have been after for  while so this needs to go . The car needs some work if you want it to be a show car but it would be possible to get it MOT'd with just some small repair work required which i will list .

The car does not run as it is. The previous owner had tried to get it running and totally ballsed up the dizzy(the points were earthing).So i fiitted a brand new distributor(not included),put some fresh petrol in the float chambers and it started straight away!!!It has been fitted with a 18V goldseal engine at some point and it sounded sweet as anything for the short time i had it running. it also has the benefit of having the later,stronger,smoother 5 bearing engine fitted. I will include in the sale new points,condensor,coil,ht leads and cap and spark plugs so you can build up the original dizzy.(i only test fitted the brand new one as it was easier and fairly cheap).

the running gear seems to be in good working order.

The bodywork is what lets the car down. It needs some welding on the castle rails. you could get away with patching them up or just fit complete castle rails. The drivers rear wing needs the bottom 1/4 repair for definate or ideally both sides need half wig repairs. the roof needs repairing at the o/s/f where it as been filled and the filler has lifted.there is also lots of bubbles on the roof as you can see in the photo. the drivers front wing has a dent in it just near the head light but this will knock out.

the car comes with a Stainless steel bomb box exhaust with a brand new front pipe.(needs fitting).

the interior is not bad but would benefit from a tidy up.

this car is an ideal project as it is a complete car and being tax exempt is cheaper to run.
