Mercedes Benz E240 Avantgarde Automatic
2000 Model Year (W reg)
Metallic Silver
You are bidding on my PRISTINE Mercedes. Now before I start to describe the car for you, I have learnt from experience that some people describe their cars as Immaculate or Pristine and when you go to view the damn thing is nowhere near. Now I am as picky as they come and when I say PRISTINE you can rest assured that you will not find another Mercedes E Class in this sort of condition. She simple is in concourse condition and if you win this auction you will not be disappointed.
My E240 has wanted for nothing, it is always garaged and has always been serviced at either Mercedes Benz or at an Independent Specialist who previously worked for Mercedes. This car runs and drives and indeed looks as if it just rolled off the production line and I welcome any test drive or viewing before bidding. Just simply ask. I will describe the car as accurately as possible below, please contact me if you have any more questions. Thank you.
Bodywork:
Finished in Metallic Silver with Dark Charcoal leather interior this car is the classic Mercedes colours. There is not a panel on this car that is damaged or scratched and the bonnet is stone chip and rust free. The wheels are 18” AMG and have just had new rear tyres. The wheels are the rear are the deep dish and look very smart indeed. None of the wheels are kerbed or scratched and look simply stunning. The car looks every bit a £25k or £30k car and people comment on how mint she is when I park up sometimes. With this being the top of the range Avantgarde model the suspension is lowered ever so slightly, which also gives a superb look with the wheels.
Interior:
The seats, steering wheels and doors are finished in dark charcoal leather and have stood the test of time very well indeed. In fact the rear seats have only been sat in a couple of times and are still like new. The front seats and in excellent order and have not suffered cracks like some have others I have seen. The car has lots of optional extras that I will list below. She has never been smoked in and always valeted once a month without fail whilst in my ownership – Please see the pictures.
Engine and Mechanics
Faultless. What can I say? The Mercedes 2.6 V6 engine is one of their best. It is silky smooth and you can hardly hear it running sometimes. This is an excellent car for the motorway as it is whisper quiet even at 70mph + but returns around 35mpg on a run. For everyday driving I get 28mpg which for a car of this weight and size is very good, plus with diesel being 12p per litre dearer than petrol it is well worth considering even if you prefer diesel. Everything works as it should, the gearbox is smooth and has a manual option, the suspension is all as it should be and there are no bumps or rattles from the car. The suspension bushes have been done about 1000 miles ago which are a common fault with Mercedes’ of this age, however everything is now as it should and the car will be good for another 100k miles without any major cost. Whilst in Germany I saw many of the taxi drivers use this model of E class, many with 250k miles or more on the clock!!!

To this day the car has covered 99,500 Miles and the computer tells you when another service is needed. At the moment it is around 5000 miles off needing a service. This car has covered an average of 12,437 miles per year which I believe to be just the right amount. Any less and the car can develop faults from being stood too long and much more can also result in wear and tear. I am sure that if you use the car often and service properly that you can obtain 250,000 miles with not much trouble. By the way all the original manuals and service key etc are present and included with the car.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for the best E Class you can find then this is it, I challenge anyone to come and view this car and not be impressed. Of course any HPI or AA/RAC check is welcome at your own cost. I hope you don’t mind reading me going on and on about how immaculate this car is but I know how difficult it can be to find a car of this type in this condition. She has only had 2 owners from new and whilst in my possession has never been thrashed or mistreated.
Good luck and Happy Bidding!!!
