Every year the Race of Champions makes for an enjoyable spectacle. The event took place on December 16 2007 at a tarmac-filled Wembley Stadium in England. Drivers from all different forms of motorsport were pitted against one another to determine who is the best of the best, alongside a second competition, the Nations Cup, in which two drivers from each participating country strive for the glory of their homeland. The famous landmark was transformed into a parallel track, using 1,800 tons of tarmac, for the unique event.

Since 1988 there's been just one way of truly finding out who motorsport's 'best of the best' is: the Race of Champions. The idea is simple - the best racers in the world from F1, Indycar, NASCAR, saloon car racing, world rallying Champ Car, DTM and WTCC and Moto GP go head-to-head in the same cars, on the same track on the same day. Each champion competes in a series of knockout heats before semis and a head-to-head super final sort out who really is the champion of champions.

 The Race of Champions is what motorsport should be all about – truly gladiatorial, closely matched, head-to-head drama, all taking place in a fabulous arena.
