Product Information

Hand carved from crocodile wood (zanthoxylum rhetsa), also known as satin wood or locally in Indonesia as panggal buaya, which literally translates to crocodile teeth, referring to the knobby, tooth-shaped protrusions which cover the trunk. The wood is of medium hardness and is often referred to as the Ivory of Woods due to its colour and smooth, tactile finish.

The characteristic tight curls, elongated ears and the eyes closed in meditation, all suggest the serenity of enlightenment.

This solid hand carved Buddha, is carved from a single piece of sustainable wood, which has been made by the world famous artists of Mas in Bali, and, like all the products sold by PozTech, has been produced directly for us on a Fair Trade agreement.
