 John Lane 1925., 1925. 1ST Edition thus, quarter buckram over strikingly colour-illustrated boards, printed paper label. C.pp68 untrimmed, some light foxing and previous owner neatly written front end paper.  Very Good condition : with c.48 delightful coloured vignette illustrations by Wyndham Payne. Ann 1782-1866 and Jane Taylor 1783-1824, children's writers, lived at Lavenham, Suffolk, and came from a famous non-Conformist family. Period verses for children - pretty, fresh, elusive, and naively charming thought Sitwell.
