Additional points to make about the item,
The item for sale by auction is a vintage matches holder and ashtray from the German manufacturer 'Eschenbach' of 'Bavaria'.
The design is of a very pretty floral pattern in pink & blue with a gilt trim.
The holder is oval in shape and sits neatly on the oblong ashtray until it is required.
It would make a good collector's piece or why not use it.
Thanks for taking the time to look at one of our items.
Condition of the item
Overall condition
(If more than one piece to the item the condition of both pieces should be given.
Neither pieces have any cracks, chips, crazing or repairs.
The floral decoration remains clear and complete.
The gilt trim does show signs of wear mainly to the sides of the ashtray & to a lesser extent to the top of the holder.
It is rare for both pieces to remain together as they often get separated or one piece is lost or broken.
(see additional point no.4)

PACKAGING
Any packaging costs related to an item are included in the postal prices quoted with each individual tem that we have listed in the shop.
To prevent any unnecessary damage in the post >Cardboard corners are fitted to all hard back books and every paper item is bagged in a water proof wrapper before it is packaged to prevent it from being spoiled should the package get damp. > Records are sent in professional mailers and all items at risk of being bent or creased whilst in the post are always reinforced with cardboard before they are sent.Breakable items are packaged in appropriate containers with bubble wrap & polystyrene to ensure as safe a delivery as possible.
POSTAL CHARGES SHIPPING COSTS and SURFACE MAIL
- We would like all of our potential customers to know that we are strongly against the practice of charging excessive postage costs on minor items (i.e. items that are light & small) as a way to make additional profit from the purses and pockets of eBay buyers.
All of our items are weighed and then priced individually and any postal price we quote is relative only to the weight of the item itself and the distance it has to travel in the post.We routinely post all of the items that we sell in Royal Mail’s First Class postal service. With every item sold, additional postal insurance (api) is offered (see section below) and
Combined purchases (i.e. two or more items bought together at roughly the same time) will always receive our biggest of thanks and the best reduction in postal costs that we can possibly manage. For what to do if you do buy 2 or more items from us - See Combined purchases just a little bit further down.
WE WILL POST TO EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD but due to countless problems with overland shipping (i.e. Surface Mail) all of our item are sent via the air (i.e. posted AIRMAIL) or not at all. sorry
COMBINED PURCHASES
We are always more than happy to combine the postage cost on two or more items bought at roughly the same time. When this occurs postage prices may vary as to the weight of the 2 or more combined items so if you 'Request a total from the seller' rather than paying for your items straight away an accurate postage price will be calculated and a new (reduced) invoice will be sent to you electronically. We give all buyers our promise that postage prices will always kept to a minimum
ADDITIONAL POSTAL INSURANCE
Even though it is offered as a separate option with every item we sell, additional postal insurance (or api) is not automatically included with the postal price quoted with each item.
Additional postal insurance is however offered as an option on every invoice sent out to winning bidder or buyers. Before the item is paid for in full each buyer/winning bidder must decide whether to (a) accept the offer of api - this is done by selecting the option on the invoice they’ve receive and then paying for it as they pay for the item in full. On the other hand should they wish to (b) decline the offer of api, this is always their right to do so and in this case, all they are required to do is settle the invoice they have received in full without first selecting the option of api
The decision and therefore the responsibility of the before described above lies entirely with the buyer and not us and although risks of loss or damage to an item in the post are small they can and do from time to time occur.
I repeat again that none of our items are automatically covered by any form of additional postal insurance (API) and although we always do our very best to ensure that every item we send is well packaged we cannot, and will not, be held responsible for any loss or damaged that occurs to a package once the item has left our care (i.e. been posted to the buyer/winning bidder). In addition to this: no refunds will be paid out, by Authentic Gifts, for damage or loss occurred in the same way. > Postal receipts and strict postal records are always kept as proof of postage for every item that we send out.
OUR POLICY ON RETURNS
It is our policy to offer full refund of your costs if the item that you bought from us (a) differs significantly from the 'Item Description' from which it was sold to you from or (b) if the item you bought from us is faulty in some way that wasn’t damage caused by poor handling/ treatment in the post.
Information given as part of the item description is nearly always observational and the information supplied is designed to accompany the images provided and it is not meant to add any additional points to the item itself.
After receiving an item from us if the buyer feels that it does not match the description given at the point of sale then you must contact us immediately. There will be a shop no. in with every package to make life easier
Notify us of the problem with your item and if a resolution to that problem cannot be found, then we will of course invite you to return the item to us, if the fault / problem matches one of the two reasons in (a) & (b) above. The item must be returned to us within the first 7 days of it’s date of postage out to the buyer Items returned to us should be packaged in its original packaging whenever possible and once the item has been received by us, a full refund of the buyers costs will be arranged.
