This MARRELLI OSCAR sequential injection LPG conversion kit has been designed for electronic fuel injected vehicles. The kit works well with standard, supercharged or turbo charged engines regardless of the fuel controller or oxygen sensor. Turn your 4 cylinder fuel injected vehicle into a LPG/PETROL dualfuel hybrid. This kit is not vehicle specific, the way this kit is fitted allows it to be used on virtually every vehicle on the market.

*Supports up to 190 bhp with standard vapouriser, medium & high power vapourisers can be supplied upto 400 bhp.

A great advantage of the MARRELLI OSCAR ECU is its ability to map the LPG injectors' based on the performance of the petrol fuel injectors during the drive, this simplifies and reduces the time required for installation of the system in the car while maintaining performance and minimises fuel consumption. The Installation and calibration processes are universal and irrespective of the type and brand of a car, as well as the mechanical components uses (reducers, injectors).

The ECU design employs the most advanced methods of processing electronic impulses in profesional LPG conversion systems, this results in a precise dosage of fuel which in turn supplies the engine's combustion chambers with the most optimal ratio and mixture of LPG and air.
A miniature switch is the only component of the system installed inside the drivers cabin, this small unit allows the driver to observe the amount of LPG in the tank, indicates whether the car is running on LPG or petrol and allows for a manual change from LPG to petrol if required.

Programming The MARRELLI OSCAR ECU :

The software used for the ECU has an option for the calibration of the system under a full load during driving. This allows for performance nearly identical to gasoline.
Additional function allows for self-diagnostics of the system and correction of problems when necessary.
Possibility of manual adjustment of the composition of the mixture within the range of -25% to + 25% and time of injection 1-20 ms.
The program contains information important for future servicing such as the size of the engine, size of installed injectors and the date of the installation.

LPG is injected as a Vapor eliminating backfiring caused by older kits, these kits are perfectly safe for plastic and metal intake manifolds.

Q. Is LPG safe to use?

A. The use of LPG in motor vehicles is very safe as long as you don't have any leaks, LPG tanks are designed to release the propane in the event of a fire, they are designed not to blow up, LPG tanks are much thicker than petrol tanks (which are usually plastic) and can withstand extreme pressure and shock in the event of a crash.

A. This all depends on where you buy your LPG from, petrol stations on the motorways are the most expensive while industrial estates selling gas bottles usually sell autogas too and are much cheaper, LPG is usually less than half price the cost of petrol.

Q. Is LPG environmentally friendly?

A. Engines running on LPG are much more environment friendly because their emissions do not contain sulphur, benzene, lead, and many fragrant hydrocarbons typical found in unleaded petrol. These harmful substances are not present in liquid gas. Besides, in comparison with other kinds of fuel, the exhaust fumes contain:

10 to 15% less carbon dioxide
20% less carbon monoxide
50-60% less hydrocarbons and nitric oxide
 

Q. Is there any added engine wear using LPG instead of petrol?

A. Studies over LPG usage and its influence on the engine life have been conducted for many years, they have shown that LPG does not seem to shorten the engine life, on the contrary it has been established that engines running on LPG last longer, reasons are that the chemical components of LPG which are seen during combustion (less pollution) do not lower oil density, on the contrary, it increases its viscosity, which reduces wear of the engine (pistons, rings, cylinder head’s walls, etc.) Generally, LPG burns more completely and does not cause any carbon deposits.

A. Yes. In fact LPG works very well in the cold. Propane does not freeze until -310° so you don’t have to worry, also your vehicle is started on petrol till the engine is warm enough to switch to LPG automatically.
